Culver School is thrilled to announce the appointment of Ms. Katie Russ as our new Assistant Principal, starting for the 2024-2025 school year! Ms. Russ will be taking the place of Mr. Oscar Suarez, who is leaving Culver to pursue a well-deserved promotion as Principal at another district.
Ms. Russ is known for her positive attitude, sharp intellect, and unwavering advocacy for all students. Her experience in elementary classrooms and her deep knowledge of reading instruction will be invaluable assets as Culver strives to continuously improve and enhance its educational offerings.
Ms. Russ brings a wealth of experience to Culver, having spent the last 16 years as a dedicated elementary school teacher. Ms. Russ has classroom teaching experience with students in grades K-5. She has a deep rooted background working with culturally and linguistically diverse students, having spent the past 2 years as a second grade EL teacher. Ms Russ has served as the principal for District 68 ’s Newcomer Summer School Program for English Learning students in grades K-8 and District 68’s Summer Blast Program for students in grades K-5, demonstrating her leadership and commitment to student success year-round.
