The Niles School District 71 Board of Education has hired an outside firm to help ensure that Culver School is a safe place to learn and work.
Schaumburg-based Foresight Integrated Solutions (FIS) will work this year to review the district’s safety protocols and provide staff training to ensure the district’s practices meet federal and state recommendations. FIS will also review building security and make recommendations to enhance security.
“For our children to learn and teachers to teach, everyone inside the school needs to feel safe,” said Supt. John Kosirog. “Our safety consultants will review our current practices, make thoughtful recommendations based on expert recommendations, and provide additional training so we are well prepared for any emergency.”
FIS, whose founders have more than 50 years of combined public safety and security experience, currently supports the school safety and security efforts at Lincolnwood School District 74 and other Chicago-area districts.
District 71 Board President Matt Holbrook said, “We know that every parent is concerned about school safety. We are going to make sure we have a strong, layered approach to safety while maintaining a warm and supportive environment for learning.”
