Recent Scores Show High Student Growth

The most recent student assessment results show Culver students exceeding academic growth expectations school wide.

The results follow the implementation of a comprehensive plan for academic growth adopted by the Board of Education.  To achieve our goal of high student academic growth for all students, the Culver staff is working to enhance the implementation of the district’s recently adopted reading and math programs.  The district is also focusing on ongoing professional development through its Professional Learning Communities (PLC) initiative.

According to an analysis by the ECRA Group, Culver students did very well on the most recent round of student assessments taken during the fall of 2022.  This data shows that 90 percent of students achieved high or expected growth in math, and 89 percent of students achieved high or expected growth in reading:

Higher than expected growth, at the “blue” level, is the highest level of student achievement.

“We are very pleased with the results of the most recent student assessments.  It indicates that our strategic plan is working and students are making strong academic progress,” said Principal Erica Smolinski.

Culver School is currently rated as a “commendable” school by the Illinois Board of Education.
