Classroom Corner
8th grade Spanish
Eighth-grade Spanish students created real and imaginary family trees to show mastery of our unit on Family. Students created trees with 3 generations of family members and described each of them in Spanish.
Miss Soltys’s 1st Grade Class
First grade is currently exploring characteristics of 3D shapes in math. Students built towers and then identified how many of each kind of shape they used. They also discussed why certain shapes, like cubes on rectangular prisms with flat faces, make better bases than unstable shapes, like spheres, cones, or pyramids. They had a TOWER-IFIC time!
Miss Conklin’s 5th Grade Class
My students were full of ideas and inspiration when we came back from the author’s presentation and we ended up taking 30 minutes to write. My boys were super pumped to use his 3, 2, 1 strategy for their new story, and I even had someone working on a cookbook! It was really nice seeing them apply Michael’s ideas and get that spark!

Absence Reporting and Tardiness
As a reminder, if you need to report a student absence, please call our attendance line at 847-966-9280 ext 1118. As a matter of safety, please notify the school of absences in advance of the school day. If a student is absent and we are not aware of the reason for the absence, our school nurse, Mrs. Morrissey, will be contacting the parent(s) and/or guardian(s).
Additionally, please make every attempt to have your child to school on time. Student late arrivals to the classroom are disruptive and delays the educational process. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter.
